Before coating, the pipe surface is grit blasted to roughen the surface and remove surface rust. With the roughening formed after gritblasting, the surface grows approximately 300% and this event is necessary for the epoxy to adapt to the surface and shows better adhesion.Genarally Swedish Standards SA (ISO 8501 -1) is used in the cleaning grade (blasting grades) of the blasted metal surface, the classification starts with SA1 and can be improved up to SA3.
